Upholding Lesbian & Gay Rights in Islamic Republic of Pakistan is Social and Religious Terrorism By US & UN both

JNN 25 July 2011Islamabad:  Religious parties and individuals have criticised a reported homosexuals’ get-together at the US embassy in Islamabad on Saturday 26th June 2011, and the US administration’s assurance to help them get their rights.

The US Embassy has arranged the first ever gay, lesbians and transgender pride celebration ceremony in Islamabad and assured its participants that Washington would continue to support their cause here in Pakistan.

The US Embassy said the meeting was hosted by the deputy ambassador, Richard Hoagland, and was meant to support the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals in Pakistan. It was the embassy’s first such event.

The US Embassy issued a press release on June 26 in which it made it public that Charge d’ Affaires Ambassador Richard Hoagland, and members of Gays and Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies (GLIFAA) hosted Islamabad Embassy’s first ever gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) Pride Celebration on June 26.

Over 75 people including mission officers, US military representatives, foreign diplomats, and leaders of Pakistani GLBT advocacy groups attended the ceremony. In formal remarks, the charge d’ affaires underscored President Obama’s May 31, 2011 GLBT Pride Proclamation: “We rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity”.

Addressing the Pakistani GLBT activists, the charge d’ affaires, while acknowledging that the struggle for GLBT rights in Pakistan is still beginning, said: “I want to be clear that the US Embassy is here to support you and stand by your side every step of the way”.

Pakistan’s penal code outlaws homosexuality.

All The Religious and Big Political Parties group, which included the Head of Jafria Alliance Pakistan Allama Abbas Kumaili , Molana Ali Mohd Naqvi Shia Ulema Council , issued its statement on Sunday about a week after the embassy held the event.

The statement says the meeting was the second most dangerous attack by the US against Pakistan, following missiles fired from unmanned drones.

In a statement on Sunday, they called the US encouragement to gay, lesbian and transgender communities a worst “cultural and social & Ideological terrorism” against the country and urged upon the government to take strict note of the matter, arrest these individuals under the law of the land and proceed against them under the Hudood Law. The US envoy, they said, should be summoned and a strong protest lodged with him on the issue.

The statement said homosexuality was the extreme form of human degradation that invited Allah’s wrath, and all those who wanted to promote this evil in Pakistan were the enemies of this country, the nation and also their own self. The celebration of these people with the US ambassador and the envoy’s assurance to them was tantamount to driving dagger into the hearts of Ummah.

Our Senior Analyst has pointed out that this is in connection with the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in which , the order was passed to add a new coloumn for the third Gender or Eunuchs , Now the US has taken a step ahead and has tried to introduce the worst kind of social , cultural and Ideological degradation , in the Pakistani Society , the results of which they have even experienced them selves in their society ,and now the virus of Homosexuality is tried to be penetrated in Pakistani Society , which is said to be a Fort of Islam , and was made in the Name of Islam , it will not only give them benefit , on Political grounds , but also give benefit in detouriation of Islam , which is the Biggest target of the Zionist Lobby to defame an detoriate Islam , as and where then can.

There is about 46 casualities, 1000 of civilian put behind Bars, and Doctors and Medics are on the hit List  in Bahrain ,and yet UN have not till yet taken any Notice of the Horrible situation , where unarmed , Civilians are demanding for their civil rights , and there is no resolution , for the condemnation of the Al Khalifa and Ale Saud’s state sponsored oppression , But you ll not be surprised to listen that on the lobbying of US and other western countries .

Earlier this month, for the first time in its history, the United Nations (UN) passed a resolution to protect and uphold gay rights universally. The US Department of State successfully lobbied to bring under the banner of universal declaration of human rights, equal rights for lesbians, gays, and transgender people. The resolution was passed with 23 affirmations against 19 disavowals.

Excerpts from some of the speeches on the floor were posted on the United Nations blog including the following statement from Pakistan:

“Introducing new rights “may misinterpret the Universal Declaration of Human Rights…these attempts jeopardize the entire human rights framework,” and that “while considering the issue of human rights many things must be kept in mind… these things [gay rights] have nothing to do with fundamental human rigts.”

Similar repudiations citing religion, cultural and sociological arguments were made by Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritania, Uganda and several other Organisation for the Islamic Conference (OIC) countries.

Whether Pakistanis like it or not, the resolution is binding on Pakistan as a member of the United Nations. Unfortunately, as the status quo goes, there is no enforcement mechanism to make violation of rights punishable. As hopeful as the global affirmation may seem, the situation in Pakistan is quite abysmal.

Now it is the time to take a United  decision by Muslim Ummah , to take a Positive step , and choose a leader , whose not a US and Western Allies Stooge , rather can talk to the US and Western World seeing in their eyes . And can liberate the Muslims of the World from the Zionist Hegemony and the detoriation of Islam , whose only mission is to defame Islam.
