Police Crackdown on Innocent Shia Youth ahead of Muharram in Pakistan


JNN 18 Nov 2011 Karachi : Sindh Police has been started a massive crackdown against the Shia Muslims in Karachi ahead of Holy Month of Muharram despite the fact that more than 8 Shia Muslims were gunned down by the terrorists in last two months.
The massive crackdown against the Shia Muslims are being reported in the metropolis as more than three Shia men were arrested by the Law enforcement agencies personnel on Wednesday morning from their houses

situated at North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Buffer Zone and Federal B Area.

According to the preliminary reports, Mohammad Ali Kazmi, Zaki Kazmi, Safdar Abbas and Mohsin Ali were arrested by the plain clothes officials of the law enforcement agencies from their house without informing them any allegations or reasons of arrest.

Sources said that the three to four Police mobiles were raided the houses of Shia Men. The families of these detained Shia men informed that they are professionals and working in Multi-National Companies and Institutions.

The families of these detained men were visited the nearest police stations to know about the whereabouts of these detained persons but the area police expressed its unawareness about the raids of law enforcement agencies.

Jaffaria Alliance Pakistan President Allama Abbas Kumaili, Majlis-e-Wehdat Muslameen (MWM) leader Maulana Hassan Zafar and Shia Ulema Council leader Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi condemned the raid on Shia localities ahead of Muharram and demanded of the Government to immediately release the detained Shia youths.

They warned that the community would not tolerate the illegal detention of Shia’s in Karachi on any fake cases and demanded of the government to take action against the biased officers of Sindh and CID police forthwith.
