JNN 21 Oct 2012 BAGHDAD: Wahabi Al Qaida Terrorist blew up a bomb and opened fire at a bus packed with Pakistani Shia pilgrims, Martyring four worshipers and wounding 11 others north of Baghdad, officials said on Friday
The coordinated attacks took place late Thursday near the town of Balad, Balad is 55 kilometers (50 miles) north of Baghdad., Balad is about 180km away from Karbala, with security officials and medics identifying the victims as Shias from Pakistan. There was no immediate confirmation from the Pakistani embassy.
An initial roadside bomb exploded near the bus at one of the main entrances to Balad, followed by gunmen opening fire on the vehicle before fleeing the scene. The Blast
A police lieutenant colonel in the town and a doctor at Balad’s main hospital said four pilgrims, whom they identified as Pakistani Shia citizens, were killed and 11 people were wounded. All of the victims were men.
Iraq, home to some of Shia’s most venerated sites, draws pilgrims from across the world, but they are often the targets of violence carried out by Saudi / US sponsored Wahabi militants.
Insurgents frequently attack Shiite pilgrims, including non Iraqi pilgrims who flock in large numbers to Iraq to visit holy Shiite shrines since the U.S.led invasion in 2003 that toppled Saddam Hussein’s Wahabi regime and due to Heavy resistance and Shiite Majority Population ,Iraq have about 70% Shia Population , set up a Shiite-led government.
Violence in Iraq is down sharply from its peak in 2006 and 2007, when communal bloodshed left tens of thousands dead, But deadly attacks against security forces and Shiite pilgrims are still frequent., rather they have escalated from the day the US forces were asked to leave from the country, when they tried their best to be in the country but due to the strong resistance from the Muslim Population of Iraq , finally they have to leave , and since then the CIA created and US Sponsored International Terrorist Organization with Wahabi Takfiri Mythology Al Qaida have been carrying out terrorist attacks and Unrest in the country.
Which is basically against the Shia Population of Iraq and the rest of the Shia’s living in the World.
In Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala, an Iraqi army officer was killed and six people, including a soldier, were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near their patrol in the town of Kan’an, south of the provincial capital city of Baquba, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, a provincial police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
