Terrorist carry out mass bomb attack in east Syria, while terrorist groups in Lebanon shell Syrian Army positions


Car-bomb-attack-jolts-Syria’s-Deir-al-ZourJNN 19 Mar 2013 Damascus : Foreign-backed Terrorist in Syria have carried out a huge car bomb attack and stormed a landmark building in the eastern city of Deir el-Zour. Terrorist groups inside Lebanon have shelled Syrian Army positions near the Lebanese border, where Damascus is beefing up its military forces, Press reports.

The blast occurred on Saturday after armed men detonated an explosive-laden vehicle they had placed close to the city’s tallest building.

The gunmen then stormed the building, but were forced to retreat by Syrian troops. The government forces also shelled several areas of the city held by militants.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Army pressed ahead with operations against the foreign-supplied armed groups as they were trying to enter the capital, Damascus, through the Jobar area.

The Syria crisis began in March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed.

The Syrian government says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the insurgents are foreign nationals.

Damascus says the West and its regional allies Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are supporting the armed groups.

In addition, several international human rights organizations have accused the militants fighting the Syrian government of committing war crimes.

The Terrorist are also using the Lebanese Land to attack the Syrian forces , and are attacking the Syrian Forces from across the Border , In another such attact there have been no immediate reports of casualties from the attack, which occurred late on Saturday night, and no official comments have been made by officials in Syria or Lebanon.

Syria recently sent reinforcements to boost its troops in the Nahr al-Kabir border area.

Earlier in the day, Lebanese President Michel Sleiman ordered the army to prevent militants from crossing into neighboring Syria.

On Thursday, Damascus said that its troops would fire into Lebanon if terrorist groups continued to infiltrate into Syrian territory from the neighboring country.

“These past 36 hours, armed terrorist gangs have infiltrated Syrian territory in large numbers from Lebanon,” the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Syrian forces are showing restraint by not striking these gangs inside Lebanese territory to prevent them crossing into Syria, but this will not go on indefinitely,” the statement added.

While in a Official Statement issued from Lebanese president Michel Sulaiman has urged the army to prevent militants from crossing into Syria and to arrest those intending to fight in the Arab country.

The remarks were made during Sulaiman’s official visit to the Ivory Coast, the Lebanese Presidential office said in a statement on Saturday.

Sulaiman said the stability of Lebanon depends “on all of us… not sending militants to Syria and not receiving them…we must commit ourselves to neutrality.”

The president said he had tasked the army with “the arrest of any militants intending to fight [in Syria], whether for the opposition or not.”

The comments came after Damascus warned on Thursday that its troops would fire into Lebanon if terrorist groups continued to infiltrate Syria.

“These past 36 hours, armed terrorist gangs have infiltrated Syrian territory in large numbers from Lebanon,” the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Syrian forces are showing restraint by not striking these gangs inside Lebanese territory to prevent them crossing into Syria, but this will not go on indefinitely,” it added.

Right after Sulaiman’s order, the Syrian army reinforced its posts on the border along the downstream of the Nahr Al Kabir area.
