JNN 12 May 2013 Karachi : Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, ousted 14 years ago in a military coup, who was even convicted by the Pakistani Courts of Hijacking the Plane of Pakistani Chief of Army Staff, the General Retd. Pervez Musharaf has Come out as the Leader of the Biggest Party of Pakistan Muslim League (PML – N) in the country’s landmark democratic election, securing about one-third of the seats in the national legislature, according to early results.
Of the 86 millions of Pakistanis eligible to vote, some 60 percent turned out to polling stations despite threats of violence from the Taliban.
“If this election was between despair and defiance, defiance did win,” said our correspondent “People did turn out in droves. We saw immense excitement at the polling stations.”
The Pakistani Taliban assailed what they called an ‘anti-Islamic election,’ killing over 30 people in a series of blasts and gun attacks on polling stations across the country. Despite the chaos, the Election Commission commended the extraordinary voter turnout, cited as the highest since 1977.
Sharif declared victory late on Saturday. He announced the unofficial triumph of his Pakistan Muslim League ( N ) (PML-N) to a crowd of supporters in Lahore. Saturday’s voting eliminates decades of two-party dominance by the PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and marks the first-ever electoral transition between civilian governments in the country’s history.
Preliminary results showed that Sharif’s party took an overwhelming lead, but may fall just short of winning a simple majority of 272 directly elected National Assembly seats; he may now be forced to broker a coalition government with other parties.
The high turnout is seen as a sign of Pakistanis’ desire for change
“Mr Sharif [is] the Biggest Supporter of Taliban is on the road to being PM for a 3rd time in his career, who in his last Premiership was about to pass a Bill in the National assembly to be nominated & designated as the “ Ameer ul Momineen ” of the Muslim Ummah, has once again come into power , but this time he is a little short of such sweeping Powers .
Imran Khan, a cricket star-turned-politician, also commanded a large support base, waging a motivational campaign at the country’s younger generation. His Party Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (Pakistan Movement for Justice, PTI) didn’t win the “tsunami of support” he predicted during the campaign, but may become part of a coalition government should PML-N fail to win enough seats, or lead the opposition.
Khan’s party is “poised to become Pakistan’s second-largest party,” , underlining the significance of the support for him for the Pakistan People’s Party, which formed the outgoing government.
“It shows a mandate for change, it shows that Pakistanis do want difference in their electoral outcome, and it certainly shows that the large problems that the outgoing government has had to deal with – unemployment, economic problems, the rising threat of violence – they have not been addressed significantly – so Pakistanis, with their ballot, are saying they do want change,” she added.
But with the Incoming Results and keeping in view the past track records and the analysis of the Parties which have come to Power as a result of this election , is viewed by the analyst that “The team which has been elected today will not be able to stem the rot rather will Push it more in the abyss,”.
The success of PML-N and PTI is seen as the US success in planting their favorable Government before their exit in 2014 from the Neighboring Afghanistan. As US has been quite successful for steering its Politics in Pakistan, since the ouster of former President Pervez Musharraf , by sponsoring the Chief Justice’s Restoration Movement till the Implanting of the upcoming PM Nawaz Sharrif , who has been always in the goods book of US , from Kargil till the Bombay Attacks .
“[It was] a humiliating defeat for the PPP. In the campaign both Sharif and Khan said that they are going to redefine Pakistan’s relationship with the United States. Khan was saying this much more strongly than Sharif, but basically the Innocent voters were choosing between the two different formulations of the same Solution ,” he said.
Pakistanis are unhappy with the “perception of subservience, the tremendously unpopular drone strikes. But the Innocent Citizens of Pakistan have been mesmerized , by the high claims of Sharif Brothers with Imran Khan as they under the impression that they might change the scenario as they claim , but as the results will be surfaced in the coming days the supporters and voters of both these Parties will realize the Mistake they have made.
The turn out at the Election Day through out Pakistan has once again confirmed that the Pakistani Nation is a Brave Nation , and even after the Threats and Attacks By the Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan , they have come out in large Numbers , Defying all the threats and fear, as they really want change in the system
The Analyst also believe the results of Saturday’s vote could lead to a breakup of the Pakistani state, with Regional parties claiming confident wins in the country’s four provinces. And they are of the view that , it is a part of the US plan , which they have even revealed years ahead , that Disintegration of Pakistan , as they have even Published the Maps of Disintegrated Pakistan.
“The results are warning because this is a step towards Pakistan’s balkanization. There’s no national party now in the lead and all four provinces are led by horses, who want to go in different directions. Is a grim and grave step towards the balkanization of Pakistan,”.
