15 Shia Martyred Several Injured in a Suicide Blast at a Friday Prayer in Peshawar , Pakistan

PakistanJNN 21 June 2013 PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber blew himself up in a Mosque adjacent to a Shia Seminary ( Hussaini Madressa ) Gulshan Colony, Peshawar, killing 15 and leaving 22 injured, Several of the wounded were reported to be in critical condition.

The Hussaini Madrassa in the Gulshan Colony , in Chamkani Area near the GT Road,  was the target of the blast. The interior of the madrassa was destroyed. There were around 40 people inside the madrassa at the time of the blast.

The madrassa has the capacity to hold up to 80 people. People inside the madrassa were preparing for Friday prayers at the time of the blast.

A rescue operation was conducted. The injured were shifted to a nearby local hospital and security forces sealed the affected areas.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain condemned the attack.

Superintendent of Police Rural Shafiullah said three attackers tried to enter the Hussaini madressa but faced resistance by the security personnel posted at the Gate of the Seminary , But as the two accomplices of the Suicide Attacker , shot the security Personnel , The Suicide attacker Managed to enter the Premises , while the Private Guard of the Maddresa , tried to encounter the attacker , inside the Seminary, but He was Martyred by the suicide Attacker By firing indiscriminately on him , and after which the attacker , manage to enter the Mosque , where the faithful were waiting for the Prayer leader ,as  the attacker reached in the Hall of the Mosque , he started firing , Indiscriminately , and finally blew himself , and went to hell , while his other two accomplices manage to flee from the scene , after the attack .

The victim of the blast also include the Grand sons of Quaid Allama Arif Hussain al Hussaini Ali Mehdi & Ali Raza Hussaini , who were the Sons of the youngest son of Allama Arif Hussain, Ali Mehdi have embraced Martyrdom in the Blast , while Ali Raza is said to be in critical condition.

The bomber reportedly intended to reach the prayer leader, however, the leader wasn’t present at the scene.

The Suicide bomber was reportedly 22 years old. Police officials gathered body parts for further investigation.

The. Bomb Disposal Squad official Abdul Haq told that six to seven kilograms of high intensity explosives and four kilograms of pellets were used in the blast.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.

The Ex Senator Allama Abbas Kumaili The President of Jafria Alliance Pakistan  has deeply condemned the cowardly act of attacking the Innocent Muslim getting Ready for the Friday Prayers, while he announced a three day mourning against the attack.

Other Shia parties Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Shia Ulema Council have also condemned the attack.

“Policy of talks with the terrorists has encouraged and emboldened them and they feel free to kill innocent people at will,” said Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of the MWM.

He demanded that Pakistan Army should launch an operation against the Taliban and affiliated terrorist groups , instead of facilitating and helping them Negotiate with the US and others .

Allama Sajid Naqvi, of Shia Ulema Council has said the attack on Shia namazis was a failure of security forces and intelligence agencies. He said that terrorism in all of its forms is forbidden in Islam.
