JNN 19 July 2013 Manama : A car bomb has blasted outside Shaikh Eisa Bin Salman mosque in south of Bahraini capital Manama as worshippers attended Taraweeh prayers, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry has said.
The bomb ripped through a region where members of the royal family live but no one was hurt in the incident which took place in Riffa, southern Manama late Wednesday.
Government officials said that the move was aimed at escalating sectarian tensions, but no trace was found as who was behind the incident.
The blast also damaged several cars parked in the area but there was no report of injuries.
A manhunt was launched by the police to find perpetrators who stashed away a gas cylinder inside a car.
The explosion has drawn condemnations countrywide including from the opposition al-Wefaq party and King Hamad bin Issal al-Khalifa.
“The demands of the political majority in Bahrain are democratic transition that adopted peaceful methods,” Al Wefaq party said in the statement posted on its website.
: Bahrain on Thursday banned a march south of the capital Manama, warning that participation would entail legal procedures for breaking the law.
“The march called for by some societies on July 19 from Khamis to Shaikh Aziz Mosque is not authorised and participation in it is illegal,” the Ministry of Interior posted on its Twitter account.
The ministry also banned a rally planned in an open area in front of a Shiite community centre (maatam) on Friday.
“The rally is not authorised and participation is illegal,” it said on its microblog account.
The twin bans by the ministry were announced after a car exploded in the parking area of a mosque in Riffa, south of Manama, as worshippers were performing the Isha (evening) and Taraweeh prayers
Bahrain has been the scene of demonstrations since mid-February 2011. Thousands of pro-democracy protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa family to relinquish power.
Following the eruption of the protests, the Bahraini regime promptly launched a brutal crackdown on the peaceful protests and called in Saudi-led Arab forces from neighboring states to assist the suppression.
Dozens of Bahraini people have been killed in the crackdown, and the security forces have arrested hundreds, including doctors and nurses.
Some Analyst are of the view that the Car Bombing Near a Sunni Mosque is a Plan of the Bahrain’s Ruling Monarchy to subvert the Political Pressure and Put more curb on the Anti Khalifa Monarchy Protest and and Pro Democracy Demonstration , As thousand of Shia Majority Protestes and Political Prisoners are already under detentions , and of whom a Number of them are being Jailed with out framing any type of charges against them which even includes Under age children and Women.
