Atleast 29 Shia pilgrims Martyred in an attack on Bus Near Quetta
JNN 20 Sept 2o11 Quetta : Terrorist Of Lashkar e Jhangvi opened fire on a bus in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan in a sectarian attack on Tuesday, killing around 26 Shia Muslim pilgrims traveling to Iran, police said.
Police said the bus, carrying more than 50 Shiite pilgrims, was going to Pak-Iran border city, Taftan, from Quetta when it was attacked, some 50 kilometers from provincial capital, Quetta.
Four assailants attacked the bus near Lak Pass area of Mastung town around 50 km (30 miles) from the provincial capital of Quetta.
“They opened fire on the bus from all four sides. Then they got into the bus and fired again,” a police official in Mastung said.
Three more people were killed when gunmen opened fire on an ambulance near Quetta as it headed to the attack site in Mastung.
Wahabi Terrorist loyal to al Qaeda and the Lashkar e Jhangvi have carried out high-profile attacks on members of Pakistan’s Shia Community in the past.
“Two vehicles intercepted the bus. Forced all the passengers off and opened fire. Many of them fled,” the driver of the bus, Khushal Khan, told reporters at the scene of the blast.
“They were eight to 10 men and they were carrying rocket launchers and Kalashnikovs.”
Some shoes of the victims were scattered in the area. Rescue workers removed bodies from the spot. adding that police and local administration arrived one hour after the incident.
Deputy Commissioner Mastung, while talking to newsmen, confirmed the deaths, saying the attackers fearlessly continued raining bullets for more than 10 minutes before fleeing the scene.
Edhi rescue sources said 26 deadbodies were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex and civil hospital Quetta after the suspected sectarian attack. Emergency was declared in hospitals and extra staff was called in.
Wahabi Terrorist have stepped up attacks against Shias in Balochistan in recent months.
A spokesman of Lashkar e Jhangvi have taken the responsibility of the attack on the Members of the Shia Hazara community .
As it has been believed that the Taliban and its allied Terrorist groups have shifted for safe Heaven from FATA to the Out Skirts of Quetta.
Ethnic Baloch militants have been waging a low-level insurgency in Balochistan for years for more autonomy and greater control over natural resources of the region.
Nato supply tankers and convoys of Shiite pilgrims heading to Iranian cities are frequently attacked by militants on the route near Mastung town and other border areas, mostly due to poor security arrangements.
This is the Third such attack in and around Quetta by the terrorist of Banned Terrorist Organisation against the Members of Shia Hazara Community in a month’s time.

Mastung is a district located in the north west of Balochistan province, while Taftan is a town located in Chagai district of Balochistan. It is Pakistan’s only legal official border crossing into Iran, over 600 km from Quetta.
Mastung is also native town of Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani.
The Shia Political and Social Organisations Majlis-e-Wehdat-ul-Muslameen, Jaffaria Alliance Pakistan and Shia Conference Balochistan have announced three days of mourning against the terrorist attack and demanded the security of the Shia Muslims ,as the graph of the Terrorist attack in the province have risen steeply, which is an alarming situation, as till now the shia community has shown their utmost restraint and have not avenged any attack of the Taliban Terrorist , who have done so many attacks on the Community , all around Pakistan. But if this is not checked now , then it is fatal for even Pakistan, as now these terrorist have not even speared Young children and are Killing Young Childrens , as in a recent attack of the same breed of criminals in Peshawar , who attacked a School Van full of Young School going children , and due to which about 8 children were killed.
